The inauguration ceremony of the Orientation program for the new intake (2021/2022) of the Department of Business & Management Studies was held on the 28th of June 2023 at Mini Auditorium, IT Building Trincomalee Campus. The Department welcomed over 200 new undergraduate students. The ceremony was welcomed by Mrs.V.Leninkumar, Head of the Department of Business & Management Studies who introduced the Faculty of Communication & Business Studies to the new students. Followed by, the Prof.(Mrs) Chandravathany G Devadason, Rector, Trincomalee Campus addressed the students on the university culture. Next, Mr.T.Baskar, Dean of the Faculty of Communication & Business Studies addressed the students on the current context of the faculty and the manner in which the faculty and students must move forward with the progressive technology to further improve their university life. Mr.D.Ruwan Lakjeewa, Senior Student Counsellor addressed about students’ code of conduct and Mr.S.Sivarasah, Assistant Registrar, Student Affairs addressed about student discipline in the university environment.
Further, Heads of other Departments as well as the academic members of the faculty, administrative staffs of the campus were participated in that event. The ceremony was live-streamed enabling the university community to be a part of it online while a limited on-site participation was hosted at the mini auditorium.
Finally the inauguration ceremony came to an end with the vote of thanks by Mrs.L.M.A.Shamila, Batch coordinator 2021/2022 batch.
Further, Orientation Program had conducted until the 07th July 2023 through different types of programe. Such as; Field Visit, Motivational Programme, Activity Based Programme, Extra Curricular Activities and Etc..
