Introduction of Faculty Quality Assurance Cell of Faculty of Communication and Business Studies, Trincomalee Campus, Eastern University, Sri Lanka. “Faculty Quality Assurance Cell (FQAC) is the committee designed to ensure the total educational experience it offers is of highest quality at the Faculty of Communication and Business Studies, Trincomalee Campus, Eastern University, Sri Lanka”.

Vision - Ensuring the quality in education through quality teaching and maintaining academic standards in cognitive domain, psychomotor domain, and affective domain at Faculty of Communication and Business Studies, Trincomalee Campus, Eastern University, Sri Lanka.

Mission - Our mission is to continually adapt and enhance the quality of education in communication and business studies, using “proactive” and “adaptive quality assurance mechanisms” that ensure educational excellence.

Responsibilities

The FQAC/IQAC of a Faculty of Study is responsible for developing guidelines relating to the quality assurance activities of the faculty.

  • Curriculum development, management and review
  • Teaching, learning and assessment methods
  • Learning environment (learning opportunities, resources and locations)
  • Academic staff (staff training, upgrading knowledge and skills, student and peer observation, reflection, etc.)
  • Administrative staff (general administration and documentation)
  • Student support services (including academic guidance and counseling)
  • Students (including student progress and their achievements)
  • Develop guidelines relating to quality assurance activities and oversee their implementation
  • Facilitate easy and effective communications among departments/units/boards of study of the faculty and between Faculty FQAC/IQAC and CQA-EUSL
